Easter Egg Hunt

I left work a bit early on Thursday and picked up Ranger from school and then met Peyton, Cadie and Colton at the park for the Pi Phi Easter Egg hunt. It was a beautiful spring day, but Ranger and I were both a bit tired and Cadie had to go to the bathroom and, of course, there were no bathrooms at the park so we ended up doing the hunt and then heading home pretty quickly. The big kids were into the hunt, but Colton was just as interested in the dandelions as in the eggs.

Get me outta here!

Grant called me this morning on my way to work and said Colton had climbed out of his crib and wandered down to our room! Oh my. Then, Colton did it again tonight at bedtime tonight! Ranger reported that he climbed up onto the railing and then just fell splat onto the floor. The sound of the boom from downstairs supports Ranger's depiction of the event. I am not ready for my baby boy to move to a toddler bed :(

Long Overdue New Do

It made me sad when the stylist said, "Don't worry, once we get you some highlights, no one will even notice the gray." 
It made me happy when I got home and Jack Ranger said, "Mom, you are so beautiful it makes me wish we could get married."

Loose Tooth

Cadie bounded downstairs so proud of her very first loose tooth! Jack Ranger was impressed and when I left for work they were having a discussion about how the tooth fairy knows there is a tooth under the pillow and if any others like Santa or the Easter Bunny also know about loose teeth.

Parker Sip and See

Dawna hosted a lovely Sip and See for Parker at her house. Parker was a doll and he slept most of the time. I made cupcakes with blue icing and they were quite delicious. Cadie came with me and she played in "Cadie land" on the pool table and also did a puppet show for Collins Lynch. We love you Parker!

Irish Festival

Grant got us matching shirts for this year's Irish Festival! I love our Walsh gear and proudly sported my hat and shirt. The original plan was for Grant and I to go to the Festival for a few hours and then leave together so we could go to a formal Texas State Guard event and the kids would stay with DD and Big John. Colton was feeling pretty crummy so at the last minute I stayed with the kids and Grant went on to the event. 

It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed being outside after being couped up due to the cold and snow. It was also fun to be joined by Preston, Amanda and Parker and then later by Austin and Candace.

Feeling Like a Big Shot

I was in New York this week for work and a Delta commercial airliner fell off the runway at LGA on Thursday morning and so the airport was completely shut down. Through a series of events, I was able to get a seat on the PepsiCo jet to fly back home to Dallas last night (I consider this a small miracle). I was trying to “play it cool” because I was seated across from Tom Greco, President of Frito-Lay, for the 4-hour flight, but I couldn’t resist one photo!

Parker Joins In the Sunday Night Fun

Miss Cadie cannot get enough of her new nephew Parker. On Sunday night, our kids were surprised when they arrived for their normal DD and Big John evening to find that Parker was also there to join in the fun! A new chapter has begun!

Related Facebook post from Grant, "My mom and dad have been such wonderful grandparents! From the time each of our kids was about 2 weeks old, DD and Big John have graciously had all of our kids spend the night once each week (usually on Sundays so that Erin and I could have a date night). This past Sunday marked a very special occasion because a new grandchild got added to the mix--my nephew Parker Walsh (son of Preston Walsh and Amanda Mooney)."
