Colton: Big Boy Bed

On Monday we decided to move Colton to his Big Boy bed. He has been able to get out of the bed for awhile and we decided with his 2nd birthday coming up it was time to make the switch. He liked it at first, but when I came time to go to bed, he was upset and kept saying, "Bed broken! Bed broken!"

Saturday: Driving Home

DD and Big John took Cadie and JR on to Sky Ranch Ute Trail and then to fly back home. Grant, Colton and I made the drive back home and dropped again in Armarillo. Colton did awesome. I was so surprised. I don't think he cried even once. I guess you are happy when you get Mom and Dad all to yourself and you are used to competing with two big kids. He was so happy and enjoyed singing, spotting trains, looking at the huge wind farms and eating a million snacks. We ate again at The Big Texan and Colton loved his hat. We stayed at a dumpy hotel in Amarillo, but we all slept great and we were happy to get back home on Sunday afternoon. When we pulled up, Colton yelled, "Hello Yellow House!"

Saturday: Early Morning Hike

Big John, Sheryl and Richie came and got the kids early Saturday morning for one last hike. It really helped so that Grant and I could get the car loaded up. We were all sad to say good-bye to Horn Creek, but we already decided we will be going back next year!

Friday: Banquet Night

Friday: Low Ropes Course

I had no idea the low ropes course would be so much fun! We are definitely doing it again next year. We did three challenges and had lots of laughs. Go Team - Cadie, Maya, Carley, Hailey, JR, Grant, Big John, Erin and coaches Ron and Nicki.

Thursday: Skit Night

Skit night was fun and included Nina and Papa doing a skit with the kids which basically was about Papa (the King) needing his "Royal Paper" which was his toilet paper, a skit with Papa and Dr. Davis which was about Papa dying and the only way he could get better was to eat vegetables and he refused and Grant doing magic. Everyone had lots of laughs and loved Grant's magic. He even did an encore. After the skits, we went to a bonfire and has smores and sang. Cadie loved it, but I had to take a very tired baby back to the room for bedtime before he totally crashed.

Thursday: All this fun makes me so tired that I could go to sleep anywhere

Thursday: Fishing Trip & Alpine Swing

On Thursday DD, Mom and I went to town to do laundry. Big John took the kids on a fishing trip and we were thankful that Big John didn't get hurt too badly because he tripped over a branch that Jack Ranger had thrown into the hiking path and Big John took a fall. When we got back from laundry, we took over and took the kids to the Alpine Swing. Cadie loved it and did it twice. Jack Ranger was brave and tried it once, but didn't want to go again. Colton didn't do the swing, but he loved sitting on the Hoak's 4-wheelers.

Wednesday: Western Night

I think we went swimming and hung around camp during the day on Wednesday and then we had a big night! Western night was always one of my favorite things about camp when I was a kid and it didn't disappoint. Hay ride over to the rec center, games for the kids, horse rides, picnic, singing and square dancing. Even Colton danced!
