Horn Creek 2009-08-01

Cadie and I have been at Horn Creek Colorado for the past week with my parents and lots of friends. We have been having a wonderful time hiking, riding the Royal Gorge train, kayaking, shopping, enjoying God's creation, and worshiping.

Adorable

I don't think it gets any cuter. I smile EVERY time I see this picture.

Brenda

Cadie stays with Grant's grandmother, Mitzi, Tuesday through Friday. I am SOOO thankful and blessed that Cadie is 100% comfortable and 110% happy at Mitzi's. Mitzi plays with her for awhile after Grant drops her off, and then Mitzi's housekeeper/helper/friend does most of the active playtime and care during the day. Mitzi and Brenda are wonderful for so many reasons, but here are a few:
- They love Cadie
- They respect my requests
- They are very flexible
- Cadie is always clean, fed, and has a fresh diaper when I pick her up
- I always look forward to briefly chatting with them about the day
- Brenda keeps a great log of the days activities which helps me stay in-tune with Cadie's schedule and fun things that she does during the day
- I never worry about Cadie and my mind is free to focus on work

Cadie Cat

We used to have a cat (good riddance Simon!) so we have a cat door between our house and the garage where the cat's litter box used to be. Cadie has now discovered that she can watch me leave through the cat door. She looks at me through the door and just cries :( - it is so sad. This week I even went back in and held her a little longer because she was breaking my heart. That was probably a bad thing to do but I couldn't help it.

These pics were taken during the evening so she wasn't upset.

Cadie in Cozumel, Part 2

Memories...
- Grant putting Cadie's occupation on the immigration papers as "pooping/sleeping"
- Cadie waving at everyone and everything
- Calming Cadie down when she would wake up at 3am by sitting on the balcony and listening to the ocean
- Hiring a babysitter from the hotel and having her quit halfway through because Cadie was being such a pill
- Getting to spent four whole days with my husband and family (Grant didn't even take his computer!)

Cadie Goes to Cozumel

Last Wednesday Grant and I were up with Cadie at midnight (too many chiken and stars = upset tummy) and we decided we needed a break! We didn't have much going on this past weekened so Grant did some research and on Thursday morning he booked us a trip to Cozumel, Mexico that left at 7am on Friday morning. The three of us headed off and we just got back this afternoon from a long weekend of swimming with the turtle, eating sand, listening to the ocean at 3am, eating lobster, and making memories.

Not Me Monday

I really enjoy reading MckMama's blog - http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ - and I decided to take a spin at "Not Me Monday"! Here is how MckMama describes it,"Are you feeling guilty for leaving the windows open to catch a breeze when you know the air is on? Feel like a bag lady for wearing the same shirt for days on end? Get tricked by a fake news story and feel foolish? We'll don't! Not Me! Monday was born out of my desire to admit some of my imperfections and reveal a few moments I'd rather forget. You may find it therapeutic to join in and do the same thing!"

Here goes...
I was certainly not being lazy on Saturday and failed to get a diaper on Cadie promptly which resulted in her pooping all over the kitchen floor while I was at the grocery store.

I always ensure that I and Cadie bath daily and would never "count" a dip in the pool as a bath and therefore consider us both clean enough that we didn't shower on Friday, or maybe even on Saturday, it is hard to remember.

I certainly did not have a margarita at 9am on Saturday while watching the parade. I would never have a drink before noon!

9 Months

Cadie was 9 months on Sunday which feels like a big milestone. She has now lived longer in the world than she grew inside me. I can't get enough of that sweet face!Cadie and Mom being silly taking pictures.

July 4th

My sister, Courtney Joyce (CJ) and her cute husband Ryan came into town from Wichita, KS for the holiday and we had such a wonderful time! Thank you for coming Ryan and CJ!

Laura Dickinson, Miles Dickinson, me, and Cadie waiting for the parade. The Highland Park parade passes right in front of the Walsh's home and every year they have a big party and we watch the parade, have brunch, and enjoy times with friends and family.

Aunt CJ was such a huge help with Cadie. She was ready to help with whatever! Over the weekend "whatever" included cleaning up poopy from the kitchen floor (hmm, guess I let her air out a little too long...), waking up at 7:30am to play with her and let me sleep in, and holding her still in 100+ degree weather to watch the parade.

I have to watch Cadie like a hawk or I turn around to see something like this...

DD and Big John have an antique high chair which doesn't have all the current safety straps, but that is no problem because they just tie Cadie right into the chair - works great!
DD has the best toys for Cadie. Cadie has recently enjoyed being pulled around the house in this little wagon.
At a recent playgroup, Cadie's friend Dylan brought over his new toy cellphone. Cadie loved it and didn't give it back to Dylan until it was time to go. Looks like I need to work on sharing.
