Cadie at Sky Ranch

Cadie slept for almost 5 hours when we got home from camp. I think she had a great time!

Destin, FL

On Tuesday we crammed in one last morning at Disney, then loaded up the two mini-vans and headed for Destin. Ranger rode with DD and Big John, and Colton and Cadie rode with Grant and I. The drive was relatively uneventful, until dusk when the key deer came out in droves! I was driving in the lead and Big John was behind me. We went very slowly and eventually pulled into Destin around midnight. DD and Big John headed to their hotel and the kids all managed to wake up enough to help Grant and I haul in the luggage. Our condo was perfect! A small bunk room for the boys, bedroom and bathroom for Cadie, and another bedroom with a king bed and big bathroom for Grant and I. We were all ready for downtown after Disney and we slept great!

Our condo was right on the beach and only one floor above where Heather and Shane and their kiddos Luke and Lexi were staying. The days were filled with swimming pools where the kids loved trying to cross the lily pad floating bridge, body surfing on the beach, and fun dinners in the evening. We got to also celebrate Luke's birthday with a night of seafood and high ropes course. I just love the beach so much and found it so relaxing to watch the kids play in the waves and go to sleep at night happy and tired.

In addition to the beach, we enjoyed an evening out with all of the Culhane Meadows founding partners. Thanks to DD and Big John for taking all the kids (Cadie, Ranger, Colton, Luke and Lexi) on a dolphin cruise and then for dinner and fireworks.

Disney Wrap-up

We did Disney and not sure when we will do it again. It was great, fun, tiring, hot, expensive, and memorable.

Things I loved:
- One last trip to Disney while our kids are little and still believe in the magic
- Pandora rides at Animal Kingdom
- How AMAZING DD and Big John were. They walked ALL over the parks with us for 4 days. It was incredible.
- Am thankful we brought a stroller for Colton - he needed it
- Tradition: We took every kiddo to Disney when they were 4
- Free trip from Disney. Yep, you read that right. At checkout, the clerk asked Grant how our stay was and he told them honestly that the staff was great but our room was very dirty and not up to Disney standards at all. She then gave us a free hotel and tickets for another trip to Disney! What! And, it doesn't expire until 2038!
- Fast passes: Grant worked some magic and got us extra fast passes
- Boys enjoyed the Cars themed hotel and room
- Being together with my family - they are the best

The not so fun:
- Our room wasn't nice and didn't feel clean. However, Disney made right on it!
- It was so HOT
- Grant is not messing around when it comes to seeing and doing as much as possible at Disney and it exhausted me. We got the most of our 4 days though!
- Saying "keep your hands off each other" about a million times to the boys
- Walking around the parks so many times! The Fast Passes are great, but it felt like at times we had to traverse the parks to make them work.
