Cadie Walsh is lovely inside and out

My baby girl is growing up! This year has been amazing so far and I can't believe how kind and lovely she has become. Every day she asks questions about my day, how I slept, or if I had anything good happen. She listens without interrupting. She is kind to her friends and she is especially close with Kamryn Tillery. She loves to read, make art, and climb the Magnolia tree in front of Sutton's house. She helps me a ton and I often come home to my bed being made or she might make breakfast for the kids to let me rest a bit longer on Saturday morning. I love her SOOOO much!

Going to her first ever school dance! The third grade sock hop. Guess whose skirt that was when she was a girl? Yours truly! And even more awesome, my Mom made it for me!

Quarter 2 Volunteer Day: Buckner Hope Center

Yesterday we loaded up a carload including all three kiddos, Papa, and our new neighbors Veronica and Sebastian and we headed to Buckner to serve as part of Transform Dallas. We got off to a rocky start due to crummy weather and some miscommunication over the right location. However, once we got rolling the kids worked really hard. We organized some baby product donations, stocked the pantry, and organized clothes and household goods in Hope's Closet. It was a great afternoon and I hope a spirit of servanthood is sinking into our kiddos hearts.

Scarborough Faire

Another super fun annual tradition! This year was especially good because the weather was cool. We also had some friends join us - Ryan Brown and his boys Nathan and ?. One new thing this year was a birthday tailgate at the end of the day to celebrate Big John. We closed down the park and even got to hear the closing cannon and dance a little with the musicians serenading everyone as they left the fairgrounds.

Southwest Chili Cookoff

It was SOOO chilly at the Chili Cookoff. I was so thankful that I had brought extra layers because we needed them! Sandy Lake park is adorable, as always. And the kids loved that all the rides were free! The kids rode everything they wanted and Grant ate all the chili he could handle! It is my new favorite Southwest Culture event. It felt just like an old-school company picnic and I loved all the passion our amazing Employees had for their chili.

JR Fort Worth Zoo Field Trip

Grant was the only Dad chaperone for the 1st grade field trip to the Fort Worth Zoo. It sounds like they had a great time. Grant said the "monkeys in the red shirts" were his favorite animals!
