Shauna, Avery, Cadie, and I had a girls lunch at Nordstrom's cafe on Saturday. The girls were awesome and Cadie loved the fruit and cheese plate she selected from the menu that you can see in her hand. Cadie and Avery are about 7 weeks apart and it is such a blessing to have the Grays living 4 houses down. We try to go to dinner with the girls or get together and play at least once a week.

On Saturday evening Cadie and I hung out for awhile with DD while Grant and John went to the Highland Park football game. DD offered to keep Cadie overnight, but I just couldn't let her go. I have been missing her during the days and didn't want to give up putting her to bed and playing with her in the morning.

DD and Big John have so many toys for Cadie and I think they have more every week. DD goes to the Salvation Army most Tuesdays to see if there are any good deals. She gets 15% off every Tuesday for seniors citizen day - she is so funny and she is wonderful with Cadie. They have piles of toys for Cadie behind their couch and Cadie makes a beeline for her stuff when we go over there, she knows right where her toys are.

Big John takes Cadie out every weekend to check on his garden. He has apples and tomatoes growing right now and Cadie got to pick some fruit and she ate one of his apples.

Cadie is 10 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day old and today is the first day of her life that I have not nursed her. I feel sad, but I started to wean Cadie in late July and she is now more committed to the bottle than she is to nursing. I will miss the cuddle time, but she is thriving and it is nice to be more free. I worked so hard at nursing and it is a rather anti-climatic end. Oh well, I love you Cadie and will miss this connection.

Cadie and I had fun with beads today! There are so many things to do with beads 1) Put them on Mama and Cadie 2) Put them on Tiger 3) Hide them and let Cadie find them 4) Throw them down the stairs 5) Organize by color 6) you get the picture... we had fun...

Unexpected Afternoon

I needed to unexpectedly go get Cadie from Mimi's this afternoon, but it all turned out all right. I had started work early in anticipation of getting some overdue training completed this afternoon, so I will just do the training another day. Cadie and I ran by Target, spent time climbing up and down the stairs, and she went down for her afternoon nap around 3:45 so I have been able to do lots of good work between then and now. Cadie has totally mastered climbing up the stairs, but can't come down yet - we are working on that.

Cadie Grumpy Pants

Cadie has been teething and has maybe had a bit of a virus and has been a fussy bucket! Last Thursday night I had to sleep with her in the green chairs in the loft. For those that might not have been to our house, we have two green recliner chairs in our upstairs loft that have really come in handy. We bought them at an estate sale and they are SO comfortable. If you are a long time blog reader, you have seen Grant, Dawna, and others sitting in the green chairs. Anyway, Cadie would only settle down in my lap in the green chairs, so there we slept on Thursday night (well, at least she slept). Anyway, I think she is feeling better today and her second tooth has started to show itself.

Walsh Love

I am so thankful to be a part of the Walsh family. They have always welcomed me with open arms and have now opened Cadie with even wider arms (if that is even possible).

Mimi (Grant's grandmother who also watches Cadie Tues. - Frid.) made me a homemade cake for my birthday in July. It was delicious.

Aunt Whitney, Uncle Austin (Grant's youngest brother), and Cadie. Austin is so sweet and wants updates on Cadie when he calls from college and he loves playing with her when Cadie stays over at the Walsh's and Ace is in town.

Headbands

Cadie is right in the "get into everything" stage. She has learned how to open cabinets, pull out drawers, and dig into everything! I use a lot of tatics to keep her focused and occupied. She has recently been helping me organize my makeup drawer as I get ready in the mornings. In an effort to get ready for work without trying to keep Cadie from putting lipstick on herself, I gave her my bag of headbands. Dad even put a black, sparkly one in her hair which she wore for quite a while.
