Cadence in Paris!

Special guest post from Nina, "It's true, Cadence went to Paris in July and let Nina and Aunt Courtney tag along. I got to go because I am the oh so beloved Nina (and I paid) but Courtney had to state her case that the trip would be MUCH more fun if she came too (and it was way more fun).
Cadence had several must sees; Eiffel Tower, Arc de  Triomphe, Norte Dame Cathedral, Musee
Pompidou and The Louvre. We saw them all and quite a bit more; a four hour electric bike tour around Paris, shopping at Galleries LaFayette, evening concert at St. Chapelle, Sacre Coeur, Amazing Bastille Day fireworks, train ride to Giverney, home and gardens of Claude Monet and a  scooter tour with Courtney all over the Champs-Elysées.
Cadence is a great traveler. It was a delight to share this unique experience with a granddaughter and a daughter. I must praise God for his care shown in so many ways, the Biggest one being having Courtney on this trip.

Cadie with Aunt Kathy in KC

Cadie spent two weeks with Aunt Kathy while Grant and I were in Israel. Aunt Kathy spoiled her the entire time and Cadie loved every minute of it. They saw the KC sites, spent time with cousins, went to Aunt Kathy's church, and visited Grandma and Grandpa Weldon in Horton, Kansas. I am so thankful to my Aunt for making Kansas City a part of Cadie's memories.

I loved seeing Rangers awards!
Award week 1: "Endurance - So far it has been awesome having you in cabin 6 this week! I'm so excited for what is in store! Your energy levels and enthusiasm have been inspiring and incredible! My challenge to you is to continue to love on others and bring that same energy!"

Award week 2: "Dependable - I could really count on you this week! You were such a good sports and it was cool how you didn't tell the guys about anything that was gonna happen even if you wanted."

One of his counselors, Luke, even got teary-eyed saying good-bye to Ranger. Luke said he loved getting to know Ranger even better over the course of two weeks. Ranger's other counselors were Caleb, Taj, Jack, and Tyler. Ranger stayed at camp for the full two weeks while Grant and I were in Israel. Grant and I left for Israel early Sunday morning, so Peyton came over and took Ranger to camp with Colton as a tag-along. Peyton said Colton and Ranger gave each other big hugs when they said good-bye. Peyton and Colton then spent the afternoon with some of Peyton's friends in Tyler.

Grant and I were so excited to go pick JR up on Saturday after we got back from Israel! He seemed to love his two weeks and sounds like he didn't get homesick at all. His only frustration was that he didn't get his clothes back until Monday which means he had to wear the same dirty clothes over the weekend while they did his laundry, but he survived. It sounds like he loved being "in the know" about the activities but that he worked hard not to spoil things for the boys the second week.
