Bathing Beauty

Grandpa Ron checks the blog every day, and this bathing beauty is just for him! At the end of the video you can see Cadie reach for the tag on the wash cloth. She LOVES tags. She goes for the tags on her toys, on blankets, on anything really. Other random things she loves: orange apple corer, spoons, baby nose suctioner, and ribbons.

It is beautiful weather in Dallas lately and Cadie and I have been eating our dinner on the back porch. Today I needed to put away groceries so I gave Cadie some cereal to munch on which was a mistake because then she just wanted Cheerios and none of her dinner. I made her eat some peaches but didn't force it too much.

Scarborough Fair

It was a beautiful balmy 80 degrees in Dallas and we headed off to Scarborough Fair with Grant's parents, John and Dawna. Cadie missed both her naps, but was so fasinated with the festival that she only cried twice the entire day. Once when people suddenly applauded and it surprised her and once when a strange man tried to balance her.

This is the strange man trying to balance Cadie. Actually, he didn't try, he successed. He balanced her pretty well until she started to scream.

I Love this Stage

I am absolutely loving this stage. Cadie is learning new things all the time, she makes the funniest noises, and she is so happy and cuddly. All this plus, the added benefits of sleeping through the night (usually 7:30-6am) and sitting up on her own. Sleeping is obviously awesome, but I underestimated how much of a difference sitting up makes. She can sit in a high chair and eat at restaurants, she plays on the floor by herself, and she can help when you get her out of the carseat, bed, etc. She is just so fun, plus she is still a baby with all the cuddles and cuteness. It is my favorite stage so far.

It was hilarious at swimming lessons today. It was clear that all the moms had signed up for swimming lessons and then made the Dads actually get in the water with the kids. It was 100% Dads and babies. So adorable.

I can't believe how much Cadie kicks and she doesn't mind being underwater one bit.

Missing Cadie

After about 7 weeks back at work I am able to navigate my days with more ease, but I find myself missing Cadie more. I treasure my time with her and the two hours or so I get with her in the evenings are not enough. Her yummy smell, smiling face, happy giggles, new tricks, funny babbling, and even her cries are sweet blessings and I miss them.

Looking simply adorable while she played on the floor in our bedroom while I got ready before she and I went to a wedding shower of a friend on Sunday evening. Falling asleep after eating. I cuddled with her for a long time - she is so sweet and warm.

Low Rider

I have gotten a few questions lately about our schedule now that I am back at work. Here is a typical day in our life:

- Sometime between 3:30am - 7am: Cadie wakes up and I feed her and then put her back to bed

- 7:30am: Cadie starts to fuss, Grant tries to pretend she is still asleep, I pester Grant to go get the baby up

- Sometime between 7:30-8am: Erin leaves for work, Grant and Cadie leave for their AM bike ride

- 9am: After getting Cadie and himself ready for work, Grant drops Cadie off at Mimi's

- 9am - 5pm: Cadie plays with Brenda and Mimi

- typically by 5:30: Erin picks up Cadie at Mimi's

- 5:30-7:00pm: Cadie and Mom play, cuddle, kiss, hug, run errands, and swing in the front yard

- 7:30: Cadie goes to bed, Erin works or gets ready for tomorrow with washing bottles, laundry, etc.

- 8pm: Grant gets home from work

- 8-9pm: Grant and Erin catch up on the day and get ready for tomorrow

- 9pm: Erin goes to bed

- ????: Grant goes to bed

Grant got a two baby buggy because he is already ready for another. Oh my!

Mother's Day

My heart is abundantly full! I am blessed to be a mother every day, but it is nice to have a special day to reflect on those blessings. Cadie gets sweeter every day and has recently started to give big open-mouthed kisses which I can't get enough of.

Denny's

We have settled into a nice routine and last week was the first week I really felt comfortable since going back to work. Cadie has been going to bed like a champ and sleeping in her crib wonderfully!
