Back to School

We are ready for a great years! Cadie has Mrs. Noonan again for 3rd grade. Jack Ranger has Mrs. Hernandez for his first grade year and his first year at UP Elementary. Colton has Mrs. Hines and Mrs. Overman. Cadie and JR are at the very first kids at the swing school up on Northwest Highway. Our school is currently torn to the ground, but we are excited about a brand new UP Elementary next year. We certainly miss walking to school and we are going to have to get used to the new routine.

My Mom's double mastectomy was also on the first day of school. I took the whole day off work and was able to drop the kids off, pick them up and then spend the evening at the hospital with my Dad. Of course, about 10 mins after I left the hospital around 9:15pm, my Mom went into shock from the pain medicines. She spent the night in the ICU, but she stabilized the next day and then was able to come home on Wednesday, Aug. 30th. What a day!

Lunch with Mom at SWA

The kids and Peyton joined me for lunch as a special treat on their last Friday before school starts. They arrived around 11am and we walked through a few culture centers, I showed them my desk, and we went to the deck and watched a few planes take off and land. Then we met some of my friends from my Team at the cafeteria and ate lunch together. After lunch, we went to TOPS where the kids got to practice announcing boarding at the "airport experience" and take pictures inside an engine.

I don't think I posted these before, so here are the pics of my station training back in July. It was so fun! I felt so official walking around the airport in my official gear.

Cadie and Grant in Los Angeles

To celebrate the last week before school, Grant and Cadie took advantage of those awesome flight privileges and headed to sunny LA! They used our 6 Flags season passes to get into 6 Flags Magic Mountain. They were even able to eat all day for free on our meal pass. They said it was practically empty and they were able to do all the rides they wanted on Tuesday.

On Tuesday evening they stayed at Universal Studios Sheraton and they got upgraded to a huge suite. They got dressed up and went for date night on the Universal Studios boardwalk. Grant sure does know how to treat a lady!

On Wed. they spent the day at Universal Studios so they could go see Harry Potter world on Wednesday. They flew home Wednesday evening. Sounds like a whirlwind of fun. Cadie does a great job of keeping up with Grant's go-go speed.

Colton Turns 4!

Our littlest is not so little anymore! Grant was at drills so the kids and I hit Party Bazaar, Sam's Club, and Great American Cookie Company on Saturday to get ready for the pool party. By the time we got home Saturday evening, Colton was not interested in waiting until tomorrow to have a slice of his cookie cake. So, we took some pictures and then enjoyed the top right corner!

Five friends from his class were able to come to the party - Knox, Hunter, Molly, Julia (+ sister Hadleigh), Sam (+ sister Betsy). Plus, Kiyah and the Evans family were there, Parker and Preston, and DD and Big John. Colton spent lots of time on the big blowup truck that we got for the party and he also went off the high dive about 25 times. He even dove off the high dive once and made his Mom scream! He was fine, but Mom was nervous.

It was SUPER hot so after about 6 loads to the pool to setup, hosting the party from 1-3, and then about 3 load back home, I was totally overheated. I took a cool shower and then had to lay down. Colton and Ranger spent about 2 hours happily playing with Coltons new toys which was a welcome breather.

We love you little Colton! Here are some of your favorites:

• Color: GREEN - anything green
• Sleep: You still sleep in your toddler bed, but every once in awhile you sleep in the bottom bunk of Ranger's bed. Almost every night around 2-3am you crawl in the middle of the bed with Dad and I. If you make us too hot, we move you to the couch where you sleep the rest of the night.
• Food: Your favorites are bananas, applesauce, pizza (cheese or pepperoni), Z-bars
• Pastimes: You still love snuggling and sometimes I think you are going to crawl up and wrap yourself around my neck like a scarf. You love legos, especially if Ranger will help you build something, and you can spend hours playing Hot Wheels. Every time we go to the grocery store you ask if you can get a Hot Wheels - I say Yes about 50% of the time.

You are funny, adventurous, brave, snuggly, independent and we love you so very much!
