Hawaii Day 1: Travel and Trying to Stay up until after dinner

I was worried about getting up at 4am in order to get to our 6am DFW departure. But, Grant and the kids were super troopers. We got off without a hitch. Thank you, Peyton, for taking us to the airport so early! The flight was uneventful. No one slept, but we all had our own TVs and we were all pretty chill. We had a very short layover in LA with just enough time to grab some food and take a bio break. We stopped by the Admirals Club at the airport to get some snacks, and then we headed straight for tourist stops! We went to Pali lookout, Byodo-In Template, cracked nuts at a Macadamia Nut Farm, and stopped on the roadside for a pic with our first Hawaii rainbow. The kids were energetic and excited to be on vacation. They loved the gusty winds at the Pali lookout, eating the nuts they cracked open and hearing lots of facts from Dad.
My favorite quote of the day was from Grant, "At least 50% of what I tell you is 100% true."
We crashed hard at the North Shore Courtyard Marriott after a quick dip in the pool.
