Hawaii Day 3: Polynesian Culture Center and Luau

We started out the day at Hukilou Cafe for a yummy pancake breakfast. We walked the 1.5 miles to the restaurant and Colton wasn't feeling well so he rode on my back for the majority of the way. Colton had a pretty crummy cough and we actually ended up calling Teladoc and getting him some meds. Grant and the big kids ran back to the hotel and came back and picked us up in the car. My back would have really been hurting after carrying Colton both ways. He is heavy, but we do have a system where he basically sits on my fanny pack.

After breakfast, we headed to the Polynesian Culture Center. Grant had purchased the Ambassador package for us which included a tour guide. Josh was from Tahiti and he was super nice, but the kids got a bit ansy with all the shows. Eventually, we broke off from the group and did the canoe ride on our own. We ate dinner at the Luau and then went to the Ha Breath of Life Show. We saw the princess of Tonga at some of the shows earlier in the day, and she was sitting right behind us at the Ha Breath of Life show. There was a lady sitting on the floor beside her fanning her the whole time!

Colton was so tired, so I took him back to the hotel and Grant and the big kids stayed for the rest of the show. They even got to do a behind the scenes tour afterwards. It was nice because our hotel was basically in the parking lot of the Polynesian Culture Center so Colton and I could easily walk back to the hotel.

The Princess of Tonga is in the row behind us reading the brochure. There is a lady on the floor beside her looking in the direction of the camera and that lady fanned the princess the entire night!
